The orchestra is conducted by Wendy Marks, a local oboist and woodwind teacher, who started the orchestra in September 2007.

Freeland Orchestra is a chamber orchestra whose purpose is to provide an opportunity for adult musicians to make music together in a friendly environment.

We are always keen to hear from any string players, particularly good violinists or viola players.

Also brass or percussion players

There is no minimum standard of entry, although the level of music played dictates a certain level of ability, so most players are about Grade 6 or above.

We specialise in helping lapsed players get enjoyment from playing music again.

Read what one member said about playing again after 20 years.
